Exception handling is a common practice in software development endeavors. Its purpose is to handle unexpected activities or errors within a code that cannot be addressed through programming workarounds. Moreover, it is done to avoid unexpected termination of program executions.
However, when throwing exceptions systems should not be too revealing. Because, the information the system generates as an exception may be an input for further attacks. Thus, proper exception handling has security implications. Therefore, effective exception handling approach is crucial for the security and reliability of an application.
