What is security analyst and what are the main roles of security analyst?
Security analyst is a cybersecurity professional with technical expertise in one or more domains of cybersecurity responsible to execute the day-to-day security activities of an organization. Moreover, security analyst is a cybersecurity position responsible for investigating information security logs from various security devices, information systems and application. Security analyst analyzes logs from intrusion detection system (IDS), firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS) and other security controls. They may also have the responsibility of documenting threats, vulnerabilities and risks of an organization. Furthermore, security analysts may also be in a position to advise other IT personnel in the organization.
