What is TLS (Transport Layer Security)? Transport layer security meaning?
Transport layer security (TLS) is a de facto standard for encrypting network traffic and web applications. Moreover, it is a standard that establishes an encrypted link to ensure that all traffic between two communicating parties remain private and secure. Besides, it uses a combination of symmetric and asymmetric encryption algorithms usually knows as hybrid cryptosystem.
TLS has already replaced the insecure and deprecated SSL standard and it is applicable in protecting web communications through Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) protocol.
