Dynamic performance views are oracle system views owned by SYS user. And the views enables us to access information about the dynamic performance statistics of a database.
These tables are sometimes referred to as the “V$ tables” because the table names are prefixed with the characters V$.
Some of the statistics or information that can be found in the V$ tables include but not limited to:
- The amount of free space available
- Chained rows information
- Rollback segment contention information
- The amount of memory usage
- The Disk activity
