What is Whitelisting Software and how does it work? And what is the main difference between Whitelisting Software and Blacklisting Software and what are the most common whitelisting software tools
Whitelisting software is a filtering control that only allows connections or access to a pre-approved list of websites that considered useful and appropriate for a give group. Whitelisting is a safe practice but allows for only extremely limited use of the Internet.
Blacklisting software is a form of filtering control that blocks only websites labeled as harmful to an organization. Employers and parents sometimes use such software to prevent employees and children from surfing certain websites.
Unlike whitelisting practices, blacklisting based filtering allows for more full use of the Internet resource, but it is less efficient at preventing access to any harmful website that is not on the list.
